NEWARK, New Jersey – The Marist women's tennis team fell to the New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders, 5-2, Wednesday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey. With the loss the Red Foxes move to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in conference.
The Red Foxes took a point in the first doubles match when Callie Morlock and Sophia Moeller defeated their NJIT opposition, 6-3. NJIT stormed back and took the other two doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
NJIT then won from the first, fourth, and second doubles position to secure the match victory. Chloe Lant and Claire Scmitz each earned singles points for Marist, winning each of their matches in three sets.
The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, February 19th as they travel to take on Providence.
