CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts – The Marist women's tennis team came away empty in this weekend's matches as the Red Foxes dropped a non-conference dual match to Harvard, 4-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Red Foxes lone match victory came in the second doubles position as Caroline Lozo and Ariel Shulman defeated Harvard's pairing of Danielle Mirda and Amy He, 6-4. The Crimson were able to take victories in the first and third doubles position to earn the first point of the day.
Minda won the first singles point of the match for Harvard as she defeated Nikki Rohan in straight sets. Karlene Pang then fell to Harvard's Nikki Kallenberg, 6-3, 6-2 and then He redeemed her doubles defeat by taking down Shulman, 6-0, 6-0.
Matches by Lozo, Chloe Lant, and Claire Schmitz went unfinished as Harvard had already clinched the match.
The Red Foxes return to action with two consecutive matches closer to home. On Friday, February 26th the Red Foxes take on Army at 5 p.m. and on Sunday the team takes on Fordham. Both matches will be played at Army West Point.
