POUGHKEEPSIE, New York?- The Marist men's basketball closed out its regular season and celebrated Senior Night in style on Friday, with a 91-77 win over Quinnipiac at McCann Arena in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.

Red-shirt junior guard?Khallid Hart?led the Red Foxes with 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor, 2-for-3 from three-point range and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. Freshman guard Brian Parker scored 20 points, going 7-for-10 from the field, 2-for-2 from three-point range and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. Junior?center Kentrall Brooks chipped in a career high 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe.

Daniel Harris led the Bobcats with 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor and 4-for-8 from deep. Chaise Daniels and Dimitri Floras scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

It was a quick early pace, as Quinnipiac jumped out to a four-point lead three minutes into the contest, and the Bobcats led 12-11 after the first four minutes. With 12:21 left in the first half, a layup by Hart gave Marist the lead at 18-16, and the Red Foxes did not relinquish it the rest of the way. Quinnipiac cut its deficit to one twice in the final three minutes of the half, but a three-pointer by freshman swingman Kristinn Palsson in the waning seconds of the half gave Marist a 42-36 lead after the first 20 minutes.

A three-pointer by Quinnipiac's Ayron Hutton closed the Bobcats' deficit to five at 44-39 with 18:49 left. However, Quinnipiac would draw no closer. The Red Foxes led by at least nine over the last 17:30, and led by as much as 15.

Marist shot .564 from the field, .389 from three point range and .815 from the free throw line, while the Bobcats shot .452 from the field, .414 from behind the arc and .692 from the charity stripe. Quinnipiac outrebounded Marist 33-32, including 11-7 on the offensive glass. The Bobcats finished with 17 assists to the Red Foxes' 14 and turned the ball over 14 times to Marist's 11.

The win brings Marist to a 7-22 record (4-16 MAAC) while the loss drops Quinnipiac to 9-19 (6-13 MAAC).

Up next for the Red Foxes is the first round of the MAAC Championship at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. Marist is the 11th seed and will play the to-be-determined #6 seed on Thursday at 9 p.m.?

Notes: Marist has won the last five years on Senior Night. ... Marist's opening-round opponent in the MAAC Championships will either be Manhattan or Canisius. It will be the Jaspers if they win at Rider on Sunday (6 p.m.), or if Canisius loses at Iona on Sunday (4 p.m.). It will be Canisius if the Golden Griffins win at Iona coupled with a Manhattan loss at Rider. ... Hart and Parker have topped 20 points in the same game seven times this season. ... Marist's shooting percentage of .564 was a season high, and the fifth time this year the Red Foxes shot better than 50 percent from the field. They are 4-1 in those games.
