WEST POINT, New York – The Marist women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Hudson Valley rival Army West Point on Friday, Feburary 26 in a non-conference dual match. With the loss, Marist moves to 2-5 overall, 2-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

Marist's Caroline Lozo and Claire Schmitz defeated Nancy Porter and Gabriella Spindler 7-6, (7-3). Sophomore Claire Schmitz also earned the only singles victory over Army's Allyson Hayley, but the Red Foxes failed to earn a point in the five other singles matches.

Sara Martorelli clinched the match for Army West Point, defeating Nikki Rohan 6-2, 6-4.

The Red Foxes return to action at Army West Point on Sunday versus Fordham University at 10 a.m. for the final match of February. Marist's next MAAC match is on April 1st in Loundonville, NY vs. Siena.
