POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Red Foxes finished off the regular season and celebrated Senior Night in style on Saturday, beating the Canisius Golden Griffins 67-55 at McCann Arena. With the win, Marist finishes the 2015-16 season with an overall record of 15-15 (14-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). With the loss Canisius drops to 13-16 (8-12 MAAC). The Marist women's basketball program packed the house for their seventh sell-out of all time.

Senior Tori Jarosz led the Red Foxes with 25 points on 9-for-22 shooting from the field and 7-for-8 from the free throw line along with 15 rebounds for her 24th double-double of the season and 17th in a row. Senior Sydney Coffey chipped in 22 points on 7-17 shooting from the field and 5-for-7 from the line.

Junior Lauren D'Hont led the Golden Griffins with 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor to go along with a team high 10 rebounds and two steals.

Marist shot .377 from the floor, .250 from behind the arc and .789 from the free throw line. Canisius shot .397 from the field, .300 from three point range and .750 from the charity stripe. The Golden Griffins outrebounded the Red Foxes 38-36 and had 17 assist and 21 turnovers. Marist had 11 assists and 12 turnovers.

Canisius started strong out of the gate taking a 7-0 lead before the Red Foxes could respond. The Red Foxes shaking off the pre-game jitters answered with a 14-4 run that included the team going 6-for-6 from the field. It was a quarter of runs however and Canisius rattled off another 7-0 run before the teams traded three pointers to end the quarter with the Griffs on top, 21-17.

A 7-2 run to start the second quarter capped off by a Eileen Van Horn three regained the lead for Marist at 24-23 with 6:50 to go in the half. Again Canisius responded, this time with a 15-5 run to end the half and take a 38-29 lead into the locker room.

To start the second half the Red Foxes were able to pull the deficit to within six before Canisius used back-to-back layups to push their cushion back up to 10. A three from Coffey with just over four minutes to go in third sparked a 9-0 run to end the quarter that brought the Red Foxes to within one heading to the fourth. The Red Foxes defense locked down Canisius for the final 5:34 of the quarter holding the Griffs to a scoreless finish to end the third.

Just two minutes into the fourth an offensive rebound and put back layup from Jarosz put Marist ahead 47-45. On the ensuing possession Canisius' Sarah Serrette snapped a near eight minute scoring drought for the Griffs to tie it back up.

A shot-clock beating three from Maura Fitzpatrick put the Red Foxes up again by one, and then a flurry of buckets from Jarosz put the Red Foxes in control. Jarosz scored on four consecutive trips to the basket helping extend the Red Foxes lead to seven.

A mid-range jumper from Canisius was answered the next trip down by a shot-clock beating Claire Oberdorf three that pushed the Red Foxes lead back up to eight. On the next possesion a strong take to the hoop from Coffey put the Red Foxes up 10 with a minute to go.

Up next for the Red Foxes is the MAAC Championship. Marist is the #3 seed and will play the winner of the #6 vs. #11 game on Saturday at noon.
