POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's cross country team placed first at the season opening Marist Invitational on Saturday at Vassar Farms. The Red Foxes finished with 21 points, while Iona College finished with 42, Fairfield finished with 81 and LIU Post finished with 109.
Matt Baffuto was the first overall finisher with a final time 18:52.5 while Dietrich Mosel came in second with an overall time of 19:05.6. Saad Baig finished fifth with a time of 19:13.4, Spencer Johnson finished in sixth with a time of 19:22.5, Alex Hogue placed seventh with a time of 19:25.1, Riley Hughes placed eighth with a time of 19:27.7, Steven Morrison finished in ninth with a time of 19:31.0 and Steven Morrison finished in tenth with a final time of 19:32.1 to round out the top 10.
Following the race, the men's cross country and track and field senior class was recognized with a Senior Day celebration.
Up next for Marist is the Rider Invitational in Pennington, New Jersey on Friday, Sept. 16th.
