Women's Tennis Wraps Weekend At Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, New York – The Marist women's tennis team battled tough rainy conditions yesterday and wrapped up its weekend at the Hofstra Pride Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes continued on in singles and doubles bracketed play.

Julia Gabay and Claire Schmitz after reaching the consolation finals on Friday saw their tournament come to an end in the A doubles bracket. Gabay then lost in the second round in the A flight singles 10-5 in a tiebreak.

Sophia Chiavarra continued with her strong play, winning the C flight consolation finals while Amy Galloway fell in the semi-finals of the main draw in the C flight.

The Red Foxes return home and start preparation for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play as they take on the Rider Broncs on October 17th in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
