POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team heads south on Wednesday to West Long Branch, New Jersey to face the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference leading Monmouth Hawks. The Hawks are currently riding a six game winning streak, all of which have been in MAAC play, and a 10 game unbeaten streak overall. Since Monmouth joined the MAAC in 2013, the Red Foxes have never been victorious against the Hawks in regular or postseason play. Â

Marist is coming off a much needed 3-1 victory against Iona after losing its prior three outings. In the 15th minute, sophomore
Keri Bradley netted the lone goal for the Red Foxes in the first half. Knotted at one early in the second half, freshman
Jillian Colucci broke the tie in the 56th minute, putting Marist up 2-1. Senior
Paige Jacob solidified the win in the 70th minute after she scored on an assist from junior
Tori Flaherty.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Forward
Brianna Robinson and midfielder
Alexa Svensson have both had prior success against the Hawks. Going back to 2016, Svensson netted the lone goal in Marist's 2-1 regular season loss to Monmouth. The sophomore currently leads the team in assists with five. Robinson scored the only goal in the Red Foxes 4-1 MAAC Championship Semifinals loss to the Hawks dating back to last year. Â

SCOUTING THE HAWKS
The reigning MAAC Champions, Monmouth is currently in first place (9-2-2, 6-0-0 MAAC) heading into the matchup on Wednesday. Rachelle Ross is second on the team in goals (3) and leads the team in assists (6). Goalkeeper Amanda Knaub has been dominant in net all year for the Hawks. The sophomore currently leads the MAAC with a 0.46 goals against average, a .847 save percentage, and nine shutouts.
