Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist women's tennis team kicked off its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season on the right foot Tuesday afternoon as the team blanked the Rider Broncs, 7-0, to earn its first league win of the season.
 
The Red Foxes made quick work of the Broncs winning all singles matches in straight sets and only dropping three games in the doubles matches.
 
In doubles Julia Gabay teamed up with Sam Galu for a 6-2 win, Ariel Shulman and Amy Galloway won 6-1, and Claire Schmitz and Sophia Chavarria won 6-0.
 
Chavarria then started singles with a 6-0, 6-0 straight set win over Sydney Jeffrey to earn the Red Foxes first singles win of the day. Elizabeth Brozovich then defeated Montana Morris, 6-0, 6-0 and then Galu defeated Amanda Binger, 6-1, 6-4 to clinch the match for Marist.
 
Gabay, Galloway, and Schmitz also picked up straight set singles wins for the Red Foxes.

Gabay and Shulman will both go off to represent the Red Foxes at the ITA Regionals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 19. Gabay and Shulman will both compete in the singles main draw and the doubles main draw.
