Women's Soccer Concludes Regular Season At Fairfield

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team will conclude its regular season on the road against the Fairfield Stags, Saturday October 21st. The Red Foxes, currently riding a three game winning streak, will look to end their regular season on a high note and lock up the third seed and a bye in the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.

PREVIOUS OUTING
Senior forward Brianna Robinson notched two goals and the Marist Women's Soccer team emerged victorious in its final home game of the 2017 season. The Red Foxes defeated Niagara by a final score of 2-1 in a Wednesday afternoon clash at Tenney Stadium. The Red Foxes got off to the races early, with Robinson scoring off an Alexa Svensson corner in the eighth minute of play. Niagara would equalize in the closing minutes of the first half, and the score would stay at 1-1 going into the second half. In the 59th minute, it would be Robinson getting her name on the scoresheet once again, after a threaded ball by Hope Quinonez left Robinson with a 1-on-1 opportunity against the goalkeeper.

SCOUTING THE STAGS
Fairfield is currently 7th in the MAAC standing at 6-9 overall, 4-5 in conference. The Stags have dropped their last two contests against top of the league competition, Monmouth and Manhattan. Alex Madden currently leads the team in goals with six and Sara Plowman trails closely behind with four tallies of her own. The Red Foxes have won the previous two meetings between the two teams, outscoring the Stags by a combined 8-2 margin.
