HOLMDEL, New Jersey – The Marist men's cross country team placed fifth at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship at Holmdel Park on Saturday.
The Red Foxes were led by senior co-captain Dietrich Mosel who finished 11th overall with a final time of 25:54.01. Junior Michael Kennedy (23rd place, 26:51.94), junior Palmer Wiemann (26th place, 26:55.46), sophomore Christopher Rivas (27th place, 26:58.32) and sophomore Alex Hogue (34th place, 27:09.41) rounded out the top five for Marist.
After the race, 22 Red Foxes were named to the 2017 MAAC All-Academic Team, the most of any school in the conference. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
Up next, Marist has a week off, before returning to competition at the Northeast Regionals on Friday, Nov. 10th in Buffalo, NY.
