POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – After a long stretch on the road, Marist women's basketball looks to bounce back as the team is set to host Dartmouth this Saturday evening at McCann Arena. Tipoff between the Red Foxes and the Big Green is scheduled for 7 p.m.
PREVIOUS OUTING
The Red Foxes are coming off of a tough road loss at Seton Hall.
Allie Clement lead Marist with 14 pts on 6-of-11 shooting but it wasn't enough to beat the now 5-1 Pirates.
Kendall Baab also had a nice shooting performance going 4 for 5 from the field.
After holding the lead for the majority of the first quarter, the Pirates amped up the pressure in the second quarter, rattling off a 10-0 run to take a 31-18 lead with just over seven minutes to go in the half.
The Pirates' run continued building their advantage with a 21-2 run over seven minutes in the second quarter that extended to a 27-4 run to head into halftime. Seton Hall would lead 47-22 at the break and never look back.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
The Foxes will need to get some consistency going to rattle off a few wins. The Red Foxes will look for juniors
Maura Fitzpatrick and redshirt sophomore
Alana Gilmer to get it going on the offensive end. Both players have shown spurts in the Red Foxes first five games but will need more constant production going forward.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth currently sits at 4-1 with its lone loss coming on the road to Army West Point. Cy Lippold is Dartmouth's leading scorer averaging just over 15 points per game. With an overall balanced attack Marist will have to play solid defense to neutralize Dartmouth's weapons.
