POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's basketball team is on the road traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to take on Temple University in a Saturday afternoon non-conference match up. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. as the Red Foxes (3-7) are in pursuit of their third consecutive win.

The Marist women's basketball team won its second straight game as they downed Boston University 80-52, last Saturday afternoon at the Case Gymnasium in Boston, Massachusetts. The Red Foxes had five players score in double figures as a balanced effort from inside and outside helped Marist win its third game of the season.

LAST TIME VS TEMPLE
The Red Foxes played in their first ever WNIT Tournament game as they hosted but fell to Temple, 67-54, in the opening round of the 2014-15 postseason. That WNIT game was the first time these two teams have matched up in over 14 years and the first time the Red Foxes faced an opponent from the new American Athletic Conference. The Red Foxes are now 1-2 all-time against the Owls and the last time these two paired off before the WNIT Tournament was a home and home in the 1999-00 and 2000-01 season. The Red Foxes won the first match-up 53-41 and the Owls took the second 77-57.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Temple currently owns a 7-3 record and are 5-3 at home. The Owls also have one of the nation's most dangerous scorers in Tanaya Atkinson. Atkinson currently averages a double-double scoring 23.8 points while pulling down 11.7 rebounds per game. The Owls have one other scorer in double digits, as Mia Davis averages 10.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. A tough team on the boards, Temple currently averages 44.9 rebounds a game to its opponent's 36 boards, good for a +8.9 margin.
