WEST POINT, New York – The Marist women's tennis team completed day two of the Army West Point Invite Saturday afternoon.
In the flight A singles consolation bracket, freshman
Julia Gabay defeated Wagners Anand, 8-6 and then won by default against Bryant's Rokke. In B singles,
Sam Galu fell to Army West Point's Anastasiya Joyner, 4-6, 6-3, 10-2.
Over in C singles,
Elizabeth Brozovich fell to Sacred Heart's Ruiz, 8-1 and in D singles,
Amy Galloway dropped a match to Quinnipiac's Alex Mircea, 6-4, 6-1.
In the D singles consolation bracket,
Sophia Chavarria defeated St. Bonaventure's Francesca Chin, 8-2 and then defeated Army West Point's Leslie Frankland, 8-3.
The Red Foxes also competed in doubles throughout the day as
Claire Schmitz paired up with Gabay but fell to Colgate's Hyland and Williams, 7-5. In B doubles, Galloway and Chavarria fell to Army West Point's Guenard and Spirtos, 6-4 and Brozovich and Galu lost to a Black Knight's pairing by the same margin.
The Red Foxes will complete play at the Army West Point Invite tomorrow afternoon.
