POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Through 25 collegiate games, Marist red-shirt junior quarterback
Mike White has put together a list of significant accomplishments.
White holds the program's all-time records for completions (473), passing attempts (924), and passing yards (6,505). Last year, he established Marist's single-season records for completions in all three categories.
While the records are meaningful to White, there is a goal left to be conquered.
It involves a ring.
"I would like to win a championship," White said. "That's obviously the main goal as a team and for myself. I see what it's like to those guys coming back and showing that ring. I just want that more than anything."
In 2013, the Marist football team won a share of the Pioneer Football League championship. White joined the Red Foxes the following season after a standout career at Cornwall High School, approximately a 45-minute drive from the Marist campus.
As a true freshman, White did not see any playing time. This has been the norm in the 26-year tenure of head coach
Jim Parady, as just one quarterback has seen the field in his first collegiate season. That was Chuckie Looney, who was not only the Red Foxes' starting quarterback on their 2013 title team, but still holds the program's all-time record with 59 touchdown passes.
"I came in here, and I wasn't mentally sharp at all," White said. "Right now, I think I'm mentally sharp and I've progressed in a lot of areas throughout the past couple of years."
White's first career start came at Tenney Stadium against Sacred Heart in the third week of the 2015 season. That night, he threw for 347 yards as the Red Foxes defeated the defending Northeast Conference champion by a score of 34-27. It was the first of seven 300-yard games White has had in his career.

White, who has thrown 41 touchdown passes in his career, set the program's completions and passing yards records this past week against Jacksonville. Here is a look at his top receiving targets by yardage in his career:
Parady viewed White as a gifted athlete when he entered Marist, and attributes his quarterback's success to developing the mental and mechanical parts of his game.
"He's really worked hard at improving his mechanics and his technique in the off-season with his footwork and protecting the ball in the pocket," said Parady, who also coaches the Red Foxes' quarterbacks. "As he's gone along, you can see that development. He's also put the work in with film study to truly understand defenses."
The Marist football team (2-2 overall, 1-1 PFL) travels to Davidson (2-1, 0-0) for a league game on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Red Foxes are 8-1 against Davidson all-time with six straight victories. The Wildcats are coming off a bye week following a 42-21 victory over Guilford on Sept. 16.
