Women's Soccer Faces Manhattan Saturday Evening

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist women's soccer team looks to bounce back after a tough 1-0 loss as they take on the Manhattan Jaspers Saturday night at Tenney Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. as the Red Foxes are looking to improve to 3-1-1 overall in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

PREVIOUS OUTING
Marist suffered a 1-0 loss Wednesday at Saint Peter's as they dropped their first conference game of the year. The Red Foxes ended the game with plenty of chances towards net but were unable to convert eventually falling to the Peacocks for the first time since 2012.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
The Red Foxes have been fueled by their backline both offensively and defensively. Alexa Svensson and Nicole Sasso have been key contributors on both sides of the ball. Svensson currently leads the Red Foxes in assists with four and is tied for the lead in points with six. Sasso is tied for the team lead in goals with three on only six shots on goal.

SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Manhattan is currently on a two game winning streak coming off a dominating 4-0 victory over Iona. All the Jaspers' goals were scored and assisted by a different player as they head into this matchup with a 4-5-1 record.

Marist will travel to Loudonville, NY next Wednesday, October 4th to take on Siena in its next MAAC match. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
