Men’s Basketball Returns Home, Faces Fairfield

Red Foxes, Stags To Tip Off Saturday Night At 7

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team (3-13 overall, 1-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) returns home Saturday night, as the Red Foxes host Fairfield (6-10, 1-4) in a conference clash. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
 
Please click on the attached video for a closer look at freshman guard Austin Williams. Williams is coming off a career-high 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field in the Red Foxes' last outing at Quinnipiac on Jan. 10. He has been a consistent part of the rotation this season, and is averaging 4.6 points per game while leading the team in rebounding in three games.

Last Time Out
Marist was defeated in overtime at Quinnipiac by a score of 80-79 on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Brian Parker led the Red Foxes with 25 points, and went 13-for-15 from the free-throw line. Tobias Sjoberg had a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
 
The Opponent
Fairfield won its MAAC opener against Saint Peter's on Dec. 28, but has dropped its last four conference games against Manhattan (twice), Rider, and Iona. Preseason MAAC Player of the Year Tyler Nelson leads the Stags in scoring at 19.8 points per game, which ranks third in the MAAC. Jonathan Kasibabu leads the MAAC in field goal percentage (.603). Head coach Sydney Johnson is in his seventh season at the helm.
