Marist Renews Rivalry With Siena

Red Foxes Seeking Regular-Season Sweep Of Saints For First Time In 11 Years

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team (4-13 overall, 2-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) returns to action on Thursday night, when the Red Foxes travel north to face Siena (5-14, 1-5). Tip-off at the Times Union Center in Albany is set for 7 p.m., or a half-hour following the conclusion of the preceding Marist-Siena women's basketball game.

Marist prevailed in overtime against Fairfield, 95-89, on Jan. 13. David Knudsen led the Red Foxes with 24 points, while Austin Williams had career highs in points (23), rebounds (six), and assists (five). Ryan Funk scored 10 of his 13 points in overtime, and Connor McClenaghan scored a career-high nine points off the bench. The Red Foxes shot .556 (30-for-54) from the field and .517 (15-for-29) from three-point range.
 
The Opponent
Siena has dropped two straight, with losses at Iona and Manhattan last week. Prior to that, the Saints defeated Canisius, which is the Golden Griffins' lone conference loss to this point. Three Saints average between nine and 10 points per game, paced by Ashante Shivers at 9.6. Head coach Jimmy Patsos is in his fifth season at the helm.
