Women's Tennis Starts Spring Schedule At Seton Hall

Red Foxes Will Start Stretch Of Ten-Straight Road Matches Sunday In Jersey

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's tennis team will kick off its spring schedule of play on Sunday, January 28th as they take on Seton Hall at 1 p.m. The Red Foxes are led by first year head coach Gary Sussman and had successful fall trips to the Army West Point Invite, the Hofstra Pride Invitational, and the ITA Regional Tournament.

LAST DUAL MATCH
The Marist women's tennis team kicked off its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference season on the right foot back in October as the team blanked the Rider Broncs, 7-0, to earn its first league win of the season. The Red Foxes made quick work of the Broncs winning all singles matches in straight sets and only dropping three games in the doubles matches.

PRESEASON PICK
The Red Foxes were tabbed for a third place finish in the 2018 MAAC Women's Tennis Preseason poll. Qunnipiac leads the poll with all eight first place votes and 65 total points. Siena trails behind the Bobcats with 56 points and Marist rounds out the top three with 43 points in the preseason poll.

SPRING SCHEDULE
Teams from the Big East, American Athletic Conference, Patriot League, Ivy League, America East, Colonial Athletic Association, and MAAC populate the Red Foxes' slate as Marist opens the spring slate with 10 straight road matches.

UP NEXT
The Red Foxes will have a busy weekend ahead of them as they travel to take on St. John's on Friday, February 2nd and then UConn on Sunday, February 4th.
