RIVERDALE, New York – Junior forward Ryan Funk drained a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining, which lifted the Marist men's basketball team to a 62-59 victory over Manhattan in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game on Tuesday night at Draddy Gymnasium.
 
Summary

• An 8-0 run enabled Marist to jump out to an 11-4 run in the game's first five minutes.
• Manhattan answered with a 16-0 run to take its largest lead of the first half at nine.
• Manhattan led 29-21 on a basket by Pauly Paulicap with 4:02 left in the first half. But the Red Foxes held the Jaspers scoreless the rest of the half. A basket by sophomore center Tobias Sjoberg and a three-pointer by junior guard David Knudsen cut Marist's deficit to 29-26 going into halftime.
• Manhattan scored the first five points of the second half, and led by as much as eight on two occasions in the final 20 minutes.
• Marist took its first lead of the second half at 47-45 on a three-pointer by senior center Connor McClenaghan with seven minutes to play.
• Manhattan led by five after two Zavier Turner free throws with 1:33 remaining, but a three-pointer by Knudsen 10 seconds later cut Marist's deficit to 58-56.
• With 9.0 seconds to play, Rich Williams split a pair of free throws, which left Manhattan with a 59-57 lead.
• On the ensuing possession, junior guard Brian Parker inbounded to red-shirt sophomore forward Aleksandar Dozic, who reached the right elbow and passed to McClenaghan at three-point range straightaway. McClenaghan quickly fired a pass to Funk, who drained a three from the left corner with 0.8 seconds remaining.
• Inbounding from under its own basket, freshman guard Austin Williams deflected Manhattan's first attempt out of bounds, running the clock down to 0.5 seconds remaining. The second attempt went out of bounds.
• Knudsen was then fouled with 0.2 seconds remaining. He drained two free throws to seal the victory.

• The last four Marist-Manhattan games have been decided by a total of 11 points. Each team has won twice. Two of the games have gone to overtime, and the other two had a game-winning three-pointer in the final 12 seconds.
• Sjoberg now has three double-digit rebounding games this season.
