POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist men's and women's swimming and diving begin their season tomorrow at home in McCann Natatorium against Canisius. Meet time is set for 10 a.m.
The men's team placed second at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship, breaking seven school records in the process. The squad looks to build on a strong season and capture a MAAC Championship for the first time since 2008. The team returns

The women's squad took second at MAAC championships, breaking an eight year win streak. Despite losing a strong senior core, the women's team looks to compete again for a championship thanks to a good freshman class.
Georgeanne Zimmerman looks to improve upon a strong rookie season where she picked up two MAAC Swimmer of the week honors.
Esabelle Gervasio looks to be one of the top divers in the MAAC after being named MAAC Rookie Diver at MAAC Championships and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Diver of the Meet.
Both teams were picked to finish second, with the men's team receiving one first place vote. Rider's men and Fairfield's women were picked first.
Ethan Fergus begins his first season as an assistant coach. The Hudson Valley local has an abundance of experience coaching at the club level.
With 390 career dual meet victories, Head Coach Larry Van Wagner looks to win his 400
th career win this upcoming season. Van Wagner currently has the most wins of any coach in the history of Marist. Earlier this year, Van Wagner was awarded a 40 year Distinguished Service Award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
Marist travels to Fordham on Thursday, October 18 for a non-conference meet. Meet time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
