Men's Soccer Set to Host Manhattan on Saturday

Conference Co-Leader Red Foxes Enter Seventh Matchup

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York –  Marist men's soccer is one of three teams in the MAAC with four wins so far this season. The Red Foxes are in for a challenge as they welcome the Jaspers on Saturday night, a team that previously received votes in the United Coaches National Soccer Poll. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Men's soccer won in a thriller at Monmouth on Wednesday night, with Allen Gavilanes earning the "Golden Goal" in double-overtime.
  • The Hawks took the lead in the first half, and goalie Sean Murray turned away any and all shots the Red Foxes took until the 83rd minute.
  • Samad Bounthong saved the night, scoring off an assist from David Nkansah-Siriboe with just 7 minutes left in regulation to send the game into overtime.
  • In the second overtime, Skylar Conway pushed towards the net and found an open Gavilanes who beat the keeper and gave Marist the victory.

SCOUTING THE JASPERS
  • Manhattan is coming off an overtime win of their own, with Milan Devuyst scoring his first goal for the team to defeat Rider. Rider was one of the other teams with three wins entering Wednesday.
  • The Jaspers are sporting an impressive 10-3-0 overall record, going 3-2-0 in the MAAC.
