POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Women's Soccer Team continues its road trip with a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup against Niagara on Wednesday, October 3. The Red Foxes are a perfect 3-0 in conference play this far this season and will look to continue their hot streak against the Purple Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
Marist defeated the Rider Broncs 1-0 on Saturday, September 29, extending its winning streak to three games. Kristen Reilly scored the lone goal of the match for the Red Foxes, connecting on a rebound off a shot from Alexa Svensson in the 62nd minute. Francesca Guzzo held the Broncs scoreless, making three saves in goal. Marist's defense did not allow a single shot in the first half and outshot Rider for the game 12-7.
The Purple Eagles are 6-4-1 this season, and 2-1-1 so far in MAAC play. They are an impressive 4-1 in home matches this season. Last time out, Niagara suffered its first MAAC loss of the season against the Quinnipiac Bobcats, falling 3-0 on Saturday night. Annie Ibey is the leading goal scorer thus far for the Purple Eagles, having scored five goals in 11 games. Sabrina Locas has started seven games in goal, and owns a 3-3-1 record and a .761 save percentage.
