FAIRFIELD, CONNECTICUTÂ - The Marist men's soccer team tied the Fairfield Stags 1-1 (2OT) on Wednesday evening. This is the second game in a row the Red Foxes have tied their opponent 1-1. Marist's record moves to 6-4-4 and 5-1-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

- In the seventh minute, the Stags had a scoring opportunity with a free kick about 10 yards outside the box. Fairfield sent a cross into the box and Joseph Meyer connected on a perfect shot, but Ryan Sinnott made a beautiful diving save.
- The score remained even at 0-0 throughout the rest of the first half, but with just 40 seconds remaining, Diego Casielles gave the Stags a 1-0 lead when he connected on a free kick from 20 yards out.
- Both teams remained quiet in the beginning of the second half. In the 74th minute, Sinnott kept the Red Foxes in the game with another diving save which helped keep the deficit at just one goal.
- Marist nearly tied the game in the 83rd minute, but Allen Gavilanes' shot was saved on a diving stop by Gordon Botterill.
- With just 23 seconds remaining in regulation, Cameron Harr tied the game at one each on an indirect kick. Gavilanes picked up an assist on the play.
- Both teams remained scoreless in both overtime periods, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

- Goalkeeper Ryan Sinnott had six saves.
- The teams were even in shots with 12 each, but Fairfield had the advantage in shots on goal, 7-4
- The Red Foxes had 11 shots in the second half, while the Stags had just seven.
- Harr's goal was his first of the season, and his first since his historic sophomore season in which he scored 17 goals and earned MAACÂ Player of the Year.Â
"Tough battle between two good teams. I thought they had the better of play in 1st half, but we regrouped and kept pushing and got what I felt was a deserved equalizer" remarked Coach Matt Viggiano. "It's always good to get road points. We're looking forward to senior night on Saturday and closing the regular season out at home."

The Red Foxes return to Tenney Stadium to take on the second-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats on Saturday, Oct 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
