- Marist's defense was strong the whole way through, limiting the stags to very few quality looks at the goal.      Â
- Fairfield had 21 shots to Marist's 11.
- Marist had six shots on goal to Fairfield's three.
- Victoria Colatosti had a game-high three shots on goal.
- Marist goalie Abby Renaud had three saves.
- With the win, the Red Foxes finish with 7-2-1 and earn their best MAAC record since 2012.
"I'm really proud of the girls for being able to get a result out of tonight's game" lauded Coach
Leigh Howard. "It was an important game for us in terms of our seeding heading into the playoffs. To come out and get a shutout and put the ball in the net was a really great thing. Credit goes to Fairfield, especially in the first half of play. They did a great job moving the ball around and we went into the half having to make a lot of adjustments. I think the defense did a really good job both at confronting the ball and having cover behind, and then in second half our organization behind the ball was really second to none. This group continues to show the resilience they have. Not only with a few injured players, but with some of the initial moments of the game that didn't go our way. They continued to keep pushing and keep find chances to score and that all came into fruition in the second half."
