POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Men's swimming and diving dropped their first meet of the season, dropping a tight meet against Rider 163-137.
Daniel Knoll continued his dominant performance in the pool winning the 50- and 100-yard freestyle with times of 20.72 and 45.63 seconds. Those times are not only the fastest time in the conference but are believed to be the fastest times swam by a Marist swimmer at home.
Marist's strongest event on the day was in the freestyle with the Red Foxes winning every event on the day.
Michael O'Donovan picked up wins in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle with Miguel Maderia winning the 200-yard freestyle.
Brendan Rice provided some depth with a second place finish in the 500.
Jackson Klarsfeld picked up two wins on the day, taking the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.
The men finished the meet on a high note, with Knoll,
Mark Miller,
Murray Coueslant and
Miguel Madeira winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team's time of 3:07.25 is currently the fastest in the MAAC.
The Red Foxes will take on Fairfield next. Meet time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
