Football Faces Ivy League Foe Columbia In New York City

Red Foxes Face Lions For Fourth Time In Program History

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist football team will play its final non-league game of the season on Saturday afternoon, when the Red Foxes travel to New York City to face Ivy League foe Columbia. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

  • Marist earned its first win of the season with a 28-17 home triumph over Dayton. Mekhai Johnson was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week after his 54-yard kickoff return helped set up Marist's eventual game-winning score. Quarterbacks Mike Husni and Jacob Hallenbeck combined to complete 17 of 22 passes and rush for three touchdowns. Maliek Carr paced the Marist defense with eight tackles.
  • Columbia played its first Ivy League contest of the season, and was defeated by nationally-ranked Princeton, 45-10. Ronald Smith caught seven passes for 62 yards. Ryan Gilbert paced the Lions defensively with 13 tackles.
