Volleyball Starts Four Game Homestand

Marist Plays Manhattan and Iona this Season

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - This weekend the Red Foxes will be up against two Metro Athletic Atlantic Conference opponents in the McCann arena. Currently at 5-1 in conference play, the team will face Manhattan College on Saturday, October 6th and Iona College Sunday, October 7th. Both matches are set for 1:00 pm.
 
LAST TIME OUT
In their prior match, the Red Foxes won against Rider University 3-0 to improve their record in conference play. Megan Fergus lead the team with 13 kills and two blocks while Nikki DeSerpa also had nine kills.
 
SCOUTING MANHATTAN
Manhattan College is currently 0-17 and 0-6 in the MAAC. Last match for them ended in a 3-1 loss against Canisius. Vivian Donovan has been one of the Jasper's best players, accounting for 42 kills in conference play this season.
 
SCOUTING IONA
Iona College sits a game above .500 at 6-5 and 4-1 in conference play. After beating Niagara the Gaels look to get a big win against the Red Foxes to improve their record in the MAAC.  The Red Foxes will have to slow down senior Claire Archibald who was named MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and was just named MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW
Video will be available for both matches this weekend. Manhattan is on ESPN + and Iona will be played on ESPN 3. Live stats are available and fans can follow via twitter @MarisVB.
 
RESET
Volleyball will host a RE-SET for Midterms event co-sponsored First Year Program, Student Activities and Health & Wellness. Marist will team up with other organizations on campus to remind students to take a break from studying. During the match there will be free giveaways and raffle prizes throughout the match.
UP NEXT
The Red Foxes will stay home as they continue MAAC play against Quinnipiac University who will compete to steal a big win to improve their conference record to 3-3. This contest will be aired on ESPN +.
