POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's basketball team plays its home opener on Friday night, as the Red Foxes (1-0) host Boston University (1-1) of the Patriot League at McCann Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

- Marist defeated Navy by a score of 72-48 in its season opener on Sunday, Nov. 11. The Red Foxes jumped out to a 23-point halftime lead as Rebekah Hand led the way with 20 points, with 18 coming in the first half.
- Boston University defeated Brown, 72-51 on Monday, Nov. 12. Nia Irving had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds as four Terriers scored in double digits.
- Nia Irving leads BU on the season in both points (12.5) and rebounds (8.5) per game.
- Marisa Moseley, a 2004 BU graduate who helped lead the Terriers to the NCAA Tournament and was a two-year captain in her playing days, is in her second season as head coach.
- Marist is 9-5 against Boston University all-time. The Red Foxes have won five straight in the series, and the teams are meeting for the 10th straight season.
- Rebekah Hand's 20-point game at Navy was the 15th of her career.
- Alana Gilmer's double-double at Navy was the third of her career.
- Marist held Navy to .261 shooting from the field. Dating back to last season, the Red Foxes have held four of their last nine opponents under 30 percent.
- Senior Maura Fitzpatrick (959 career points) and junior Rebekah Hand (956 career points) are both closing in on 1,000 career points. To date, 24 players have scored their 1,000th career point in a Marist uniform.
