Men's Soccer to Host MAAC Quarterfinals

No. 3 Red Foxes Welcome No. 6 Saint Peter's Peacocks

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Finishing the season 6-2-2 for their best MAAC record ever, the men's soccer team earned the third seed in the conference tournament. With this result, the Red Foxes will host sixth seed Saint Peter's on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the MAAC Quarterfinals.

LAST TIME VS. THE PEACOCKS
  • Marist opened conference play with a 2-0 victory at Saint Peter's on September 26.
  • Samad Bounthong scored on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to ice the game and bring home the win.
  • The Red Fox defense allowed just one shot on goal, which was saved by a diving Ryan Sinnott.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS
  • Saint Peter's holds the #6 seed entering the MAAC tournament after posting am 8-8-2 overall record and a 5-4-1 MAAC record.
  • This is the team's first playoff berth since 2010.
  • In their last game of the regular season, the Peacocks fell to Siena 2-0. Jordan Jowers had four shots, three of which were on goal.

The winner of this game will head to the MAAC Semifinals on November 8. If the Red Foxes win, they will play No. 2 Quinnipiac. If the Peacocks win, they will play No. 1 Fairfield.
