HAMILTON, New York – The Marist men's basketball team was defeated at Patriot League foe Colgate by a score of 82-66 on Saturday afternoon at Cotterell Court. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Red Foxes.
- Marist grabbed an early 6-2 lead, but went scoreless for 6:37 left in the first half as Colgate took the lead with a 10-0 run.
- Colgate led for the remainder of the first half. The Red Foxes cut their deficit to one on two occasions, but the Raiders led Marist 32-27 at halftime.
- Marist closed its deficit to four points with 15:42 to play on a three-pointer by red-shirt junior Aleksandar Dozic, but the Red Foxes did not come closer the rest of the way.
- Colgate had a double-digit lead for the last 12:04. The Raiders' largest advantage was 18 points.
- Senior Brian Parker led the Red Foxes with 18 points. Parker added three assists and two rebounds.
- Senior Isaiah Lamb led the Red Foxes with four rebounds.
- Jordan Burns had game highs of 24 points and six assists for Colgate, and Will Rayman added 21 points and seven rebounds.
- Rapolas Ivanauskas had a game-high 12 rebounds for the Raiders.
- Colgate outrebounded Marist, 46-28.
- Marist shot .383 (23-for-60) from the field, .250 (7-for-28) from three-point range, and .591 (13-for-22) from the free-throw line.
- Parker became the 10th player in program history to score 1,500 points in his career. He finished the game with 1,501 career points, which is just seven away from catching Alan Tomidy for ninth place in program history.
- Marist is now 9-4 against Colgate all-time. The home team has won 10 out of 13 in the series.
- Colgate was the third Patriot League team the Red Foxes have faced on the road this season. The Red Foxes previously fell at Army West Point on Nov. 6 and at Lehigh on Nov. 13.
"I thought we were in quicksand, and thought we were moving slow," head coach
John Dunne said. "We'll have better energy with the remainder of our non-conference games. We have to forget about this one, and move past it."
- Marist is now 4-5.
- Colgate is 8-4.
Marist will place the last of its eight straight games away from home on Wednesday, Dec. 19, when the Red Foxes travel to America East foe New Hampshire for an 11 a.m. start.
