Marist Men’s Basketball Drops Home Game To Brown

Dozic Leads Red Foxes With 16 Points, Seven Rebounds

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team was defeated by Ivy League foe Brown, 78-53, at McCann Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
Summary
  • Marist scored the game's first seven points, and shut out Brown for the first 3:38.
  • There were four ties and three lead changes in the first 13:45.
  • With 5:20 left in the first half, a three-point by Obi Okolie gave Brown a 20-17 lead. The Bears led the rest of the way.
  • Brown led by as much as nine in the first half, but a three-point play by sophomore guard Austin Williams in the final minute cut Marist's deficit to 30-24 at halftime.

"We're disappointed about our performance today," head coach John Dunne said. "They did some things defensively that frustrated us on the offensive end that we have to work on and get better at. Once we got frustrated, that affected us defensively and we gave them too many easy baskets in the second half. That being said, they're a good team and they're well coached."
