POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist women's basketball will play UMass to cap off its two-game home-stand before heading away on another road trip. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29.
- Marist ended Northeastern's nine-game undefeated streak to earn their highest-scoring win since 2014.
- Alana Gilmer scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Red Foxes, and Rebekah Hand added a season-high 28 points with eight rebounds.
- Freshman Sarah Barcello stepped up for career-highs across the board to contribute to the victory.
- UMass is coming off a loss to UMass Lowell on Dec. 21 to fall to a 7-6 overall record.
- Hailey Leidel leads the team with averages of 14.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.
- Bre Hampton-Bey makes big contributions for the Minutewomen with 11.8 points per game and a team-high 4.1 assists per game.
- Rebekah Hand and Alana Gilmer have earned three out of seven of this season's MAAC Player of the Week Awards, having reached double-digit scoring in eleven and nine games respectively.
- Gilmer has scored over 20 points four times, including her career high of 30 on 11-of-17 shooting in the win over Northeastern.
- Hand is averaging 18.6 points and is ranked second in the NCAA in free-throw percentage (.950), having not missed a free-throw since playing Temple on Nov. 18. Hand is also shooting .463 from beyond the three-point line, good for 28th in the NCAA.
