POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist Women's Basketball will travel to Fairfield, Connecticut on Wednesday evening, for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup against the Stags. Tip is set for 7 p.m.

The Red Foxes are coming off a 58-47 victory over the Canisius Golden Griffins on Play 4 Kay day in McCann Arena on Sunday afternoon. In what was a great defensive effort, the Red Foxes held Canisius to just 30% from the field, and forced 12 Golden Griffin turnovers. Sophomore
Rebekah Hand led Marist with 15 points on 5-8 shooting. Three other red Foxes joined Hand in double figures, as redshirt sophomores
Grace Vander Weide and
Alana Gilmer, along with junior
Maura Fitzpatrick, each chipped in with 11 points. The win extended Marist's winning streak to eight games.
LAST MATCHUP AGAINST FAIRFIELD
The Red Foxes welcomed the Stags to McCann Arena on January 13, 2018 and came away with a 71-63 win. Marist stormed out to a 17-2 run spanning over the entire first quarter highlighted by back-to-back threes from R. Hand and Vander Weide. Fairfield's two points is the lowest Marist has held an opponent since the implementation of quarters. Gilmer would drop 20 points, stalling every comeback attempt the Stags would make. The Red Foxes shot 43% from the floor, including 40% from three, and got to the free throw line 27 total times. Along with Gilmer, Vander Weide, Fitzpatrick, Duffell, and R. Hand all scored in double figures.Â

SCOUTING THE STAGS
The Stags are 10-14 overall and 7-6 in the MAACÂ this season. Fairfield is coming off a 55-44 loss to Manhattan on Saturday. Samantha Cooper is the leading scorer for the Stags, averaging 15.1 points per game. Cooper also dominates on the glass, averaging 10.3 rebounds, giving her a season average of a double-double. Sam Kramer is their best three-point shooter, shooting 33%, on 133 attempts, from deep this season.
