POUGHKEEPSIE, New York- The Marist men's basketball team sent its seniors off with a 69-59 win against Saint Peter's Saturday night in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game at McCann Arena.
SUMMARY
- Saint Peter's started out hot. They led 10-3 at the first media timeout, led by Nick Griffin's six points.
- With seven minutes left in the first half, Marist trailed 23-21. Ryan Funk hit three 3-pointers, and scored 11 of Marist's 21 points.
- Saint Peter's held a 30-24 lead over Marist at halftime. Funk's 11 and David Knudsen's 6 led the Red Foxes at the break.
- The Red Foxes came out of the gate strong in the second half. Two Funk free throws cut the Peacocks' lead to one, 36-35 with 15 minutes remaining.
- With 11:51 left in the second half, Brian Parker gave Marist its first lead since the opening minute at 40-39 after converting an and-one thanks to a strong take to the hoop.
- With 7:39 left, Marist led 48-43. Funk led all scorers with 16 points while Tobias Sjoberg added 10.
- The Red Foxes began to pull away as Ryan Funk led Marist in taking a 54-47 lead with 5:13 remaining.
- Aleksandar Dozic's three capped off a 24-8 run for Marist, pushing the Red Foxes ahead 59-47 with 3:12 to play.

- In his final collegiate home game, Connor McClenaghan logged 10 minutes, recording a point, three rebounds, and one block.
- Marist was shooting just 32% at halftime, including shooting 5-18 (27.8%) from three point range. Saint Peter's shot 46% in the first half.
- Marist outscored Saint Peter's 45-21 in the second half.
- Marist dominated on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 38-27
- Sam Iwodu led Saint Peter's with 15 points.

- Sjoberg has scored in double digits in four straight games for the first time in his career.

- Marist's 18 point win was the largest margin of victory this since the 2013-14 season.
- Saint Peter's 51 points was the lowest scoring output for an opponent since Marist held Bucknell to 51 points in the 2013-14 season.
