POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist Women's Basketball team will take on MAAC leader Quinnipiac in a Sunday afternoon matchup at McCann Arena. Tip is set for 2 p.m. The Red Foxes will host National Girls and Women in Sports game. Following the game all girls in attendance are invited to shoot around with the women's basketball team on the court. During the contest, the Marist Athletics Department will celebrate its varsity women's student-athletes.

PREVIOUS OUTING
The Red Foxes are coming off of a 48-34 win against Fairfield. Redshirt sophomore

Maura Fitzpatrick (10) were the two Red Foxes in double figures. Redshirt sophomore
Grace Vander Weide was one point short of a double-double, with nine points and a team-leading 11 rebounds. Junior
Lovisa Henningsdottir returned to action for her first conference game of the season with seven points and seven rebounds. Freshman
Allie Best led the team with four assists.
Rebekah Hand did not play due to illness.

LAST MATCHUP AGAINST QUINNIPIAC
The Red Foxes suffered the loss in a close game at Quinnipiac, 62-56.
Rebekah Hand led the team with 18 points while shooting 7-14 from the field.
Alana Gilmer contributed 14 points and and five rebounds.
Grace Vander Weide nearly had the first triple-double in Marist Women's Basketball history, with 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.
Willow Duffell led the team with 11 rebounds. Every Red Fox who saw the floor scored at least one point.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
The Bobcats sit atop the standings in the MAAC with a 21-5 overall record and a perfect 15-0 record in conference contests. They are riding a 16 game win streak, with their most recent win coming against Siena, 83-72. Aryn McClure led the team with 23 points, shooting 9-12 from the field and 4-5 from three. Jen Fay was next with 21 points on 7-13 shooting from the field and 5-5 from the free-throw stripe. Edel Thornton was the third Bobcat in double figures with 10 points. Carly Fabbri led the team with six assists, while Paula Strautmane led with seven rebounds.

DEFENSE WINS
The Red Foxes have excelled on defense this season. Over the last six games, the highest scoring opponent was Monmouth with just 57 points. Over the nine game win streak, the Red Foxes are keeping opponents to an average of 55 points per game. Marist also held Fairfield to just 34 points in their last game, the lowest of the season. This is the first time the Red Foxes held an opponent in the thirties since 1/28/16 against Siena (66-37, W).
