POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – ?The Marist women's basketball team will host the Niagara Purple Eagles as the Red Foxes close out their 2017-2018 regular season and celebrate senior night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at McCann Arena. Senior night ceremonies are set to begin at 6:52 p.m.
SENIOR NIGHT
The Red Foxes will honor senior
Kendall Baab and team manager Jakina McCaulla with a special ceremony prior to tip off. Baab has appeared in 100 games for the Red Foxes throughout her career.
PREVIOUS OUTING
In their last game, the Red Foxes travelled to New Rochelle, New York to face the Iona Gaels, the Red Foxes came out on top with a 55-45 win. The Red Foxes took an early lead with the help of
Alana Gilmer to put the Foxes up 18-13 after one. Marist continued to lead the Gaels throughout the game with the help of key players.
Alana Gilmer led the way with 23 points, and nine of the teams 15 field goals.
Rebekah Hand went 10-for-10 from the free throw line, scoring 14 points for the Red Foxes.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE PURPLE EAGLES
The Red Foxes defeated Niagara 84-78 in late January in a come from behind victory. After trailing the Purple eagles early, the Red Foxes overcame a 17 point deficit to earn the road win. The Red Foxes took their first lead of the game with 2:39 at the half and held onto the lead until the seesaw fourth quarter that saw Marist come out on top. The Red Foxes finished the game shooting 50% from the field, 40% from three, and over 90% from the foul line.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE EAGLES
The Canisius Golden Griffins took down the Purple Eagles 72-66 in its last outing. Four players led the Purple Eagles in scoring for the matchup, sophomore Jai Moore tied her career high points and poured in 20 for the Purple Eagles. Victoria Rampado, Jamie Sherburne, and Kaylee Stroemple each scored 10 points of their own. The Golden Griffins led the game, only letting up a lead once early in the second quarter.

With the Red Foxes now locked into the #2 seed. The team's first game will be on Friday, March 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round. Should they win, the remaining schedule is as follows: Semifinal: Sunday, March 4 - 1:30 p.m. Final: Monday, March 5 - 2:30 p.m.
