Box Score 2 EASTON, Pennsylvania – The Marist women's tennis team enjoyed a successful trip to Pennsylvania, winning both doubles and singles on Saturday against Lafayette and on Sunday vs. Bucknell. The Red Foxes are now 4-3 overall in dual matches.

On Saturday, the Red Foxes first defeated Lafayette 6-1 in a non-conference match. Marist claimed the win in doubles, with
Julia Gabay and
Sam Galu clinching the point at the second doubles position.

After jumping ahead 3-0 winning the fourth and fifth singles spots, Lafayette claimed a victory in the first position before
Claire Schmitz clinched the win for Marist in the third singles position by defeating Lafayette's Grace Conrad. Marist went on to win the second and sixth singles spots.

On Sunday, the Red Foxes won a thriller over Bucknell as the match was decided from the final two singles positions. The Red Foxes dropped the first doubles match but bounced back and won the second and third to clinch the first point of the match.

Bucknell then fought back, tying the overall match score at 1-1 with a win at third singles.
Julia Gabay won her match at the second singles position to put the Red Foxes ahead before the Bison won at the fourth and first spots to retake the match advantage.

It came down to the final two positions as freshman
Sam Galu won at the fifth position in a three-set match over Madeline Melch and fellow freshman
Sophia Chavarria clinched the match with a three-set win of her own at the six spot.
