Men’s Basketball Hosts Iona On Super Bowl Sunday

Red Foxes Face Gaels At McCann Arena At Noon

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist men's basketball team (5-18 overall, 3-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) hosts Iona (14-9, 8-3) on Sunday at noon at McCann Arena.
 
This is the only time this season the Red Foxes and Gaels will meet. Here's a closer look at Sunday's match-up:

Last Time Out
Marist suffered a 73-67 home loss to Canisius on Friday, Feb. 2. The Red Foxes led by 11 in the second half, but the Golden Griffins went on to outscore the Red Foxes 43-33 over the final 20 minutes. Brian Parker led Marist with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Red Foxes committed 24 turnovers, allowed 19 offensive rebounds, and shot 7-for-14 from the free-throw line.
 
The Opponent
Iona is coming off an 87-82 home victory over Quinnipiac in double overtime on Friday, Feb. 2. Rickey McGill leads the Gaels in scoring (14.5 ppg). Iona leads the MAAC in three-pointers per game, three-point percentage, free-throw percentage, and assist-to-turnover ratio. Head coach Tim Cluess has led Iona to postseason play in all of his first seven seasons.
