Box Score JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – The Marist women's tennis team picked up a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory Friday afternoon, blanking the Saint Peter's Peacocks 7-0. With the win, the Red Foxes improve to 2-3 overall (2-0 MAAC) in dual matches.
 
The Red Foxes opened with doubles wins at the first and second positions, as Julia Gabay and Sam Galu teamed up to defeat the Peacock's Stephanie Falcon and Azuri Hughes, 6-0.
 
Sophia Moeller and Amy Galloway then defeated Marta Ortega and Jennifer Guilherme, 6-0, to clinch the first point for Marist.
 
Down to four players, it would be a tough battle for Saint Peter's as they would eventually fall in all four of the singles matches played. Galu won in straight sets from the fourth position, 6-0, 6-0 and Schmitz won from the second spot 6-0, 6-0 to put the Red Foxes ahead 3-0.
 
Julia Gabay would clinch the match for Marist, winning at the first singles position, 6-1, 6-1, over Falcon. Moeller would also win her singles match at the third position, 6-0, 6-1.

The Red Foxes have a two-week break before a two-match weekend in Pennsylvania. They will travel to Easton, PA to take on Lafayette College on Saturday, February 24th. The match will start at 3:30 p.m. Then they will stay in Easton, PA to take on Bucknell University on Sunday, February 25th. This match will start at 10:30 a.m.
