Women's Lacrosse Gets Road Win at Bucknell

Renaud Scored a Career High Four Goals

LEWISBURG, PA – Women's lacrosse got back on track with a 13-8 win over Bucknell. Camille Renaud led the Red Foxes with a career high four goals and the Red Foxes dominated the draw circle going 19 for 23. Marist improves to 3-3 on the season.
 
Summary
Morgan Jaycox scored the first goal of the game but Bucknell responded minutes later to tie the game up. Hailey Wagner won three consecutive draw controls with Marist capitalizing on all three to take a 4-1 lead and forcing a Bucknell timeout with 22:04 left in the half. Marist scored coming out of the timeout but the offense went cold for the next ten minutes. The defense held strong, only allowing two more goals for the rest of the half as Marist added a couple of scores to end the half 7-3.
 
Renaud opened up the second half with her third goal of the game. Both teams went scoreless for the next nine minutes until Bucknell scored on a women-up goal to bring the score to 8-4. Lauren Mazza's goal with 15:16 left in the game gave Marist an 11-6 lead. The Bison would come within four scores of Marist, but the Red Foxes dominated draw control to maintain possession and played stout defense down the stretch to seal the victory.

  • Morgan Jaycox led the Red Foxes with five points from two goals and three assists.
  • Hailey Wagner had a game high 11 draw controls in addition to two goals and two assists.
  • Bucknell out shot Marist on shots (30 to 26) but the Bison were out shot on shots on goal (19 to 22).
  • Eve Calabria led Bucknell with three goals and one assist.
 
Game Notes
  • Romy Villemure's three ground balls and three caused turn-overs were both career highs
  • Renaud's three ground balls was also a career high.
  • Delaney Galvin finished with 11 saves. She has had double digit saves in all but one game this season.
  • While Wagner already owns the single season draw control record for her play in 2017, her 53 draw controls for the season is good for fifth in program history.
