Lauren Mazza added five goals of her own, carrying the Red Foxes to an 18-8 victory over the Binghamton Bearcats on Saturday afternoon at Tenney Stadium. Marist improves to 4-3, while Binghamton falls to 3-5.

The Bearcats struck first, with a goal from Brianne Arthur just 35 seconds into the game. The Red Foxes answered with back-to-back free position goals from Mazza and Mehalick. After Binghamton evened the score just one minute later, Marist went on a 5-0 run giving them a 7-2 lead. The Bearcats and the Red Foxes traded goals three times throughout the rest of the first half, with Binghamton scoring one final goal right before the clock expired. Thus, Marist headed into the locker room with a 10-6 lead.Â

The Bearcats scored the first goal of the second half bringing them within three goals, which was as close as the score had been since there was 19 minutes remaining in the first half. However, the Red Foxes answered with eight straight goals, from seven different players, over the span of 20 second half minutes. Jaqueline Kennedy scored with 30 seconds left for Binghamton, but it was too little too late, as the Red Foxes secured the 18-8 victory.Â
