POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's tennis team will kick off a weekend of travel as they head east to take on Harvard and Providence on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Red Foxes will face Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then take on the Friars in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Red Foxes dropped a non-conference match to Army West Point last weekend. Marist was blanked in doubles and singles against a tough Army foe. The Red Foxes were previously winners of their last three straight matches, beating Bucknell (4-3), Lafayette (6-1), and Saint Peter's (7-0).
Marist currently sits at 4-4 overall on the season and 2-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
SCOUTING HARVARD
Harvard is coming off two straight 6-1 loses against Boston College and Syracuse. Harvard is currently 4-7 overall and 0-0 in Ivy League play.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
The Friars, who are in the midst of a four game skid, last loss 7-0 to the College of Charleston on March 6
th. Junior Risa Takenaka leads the Friars with six wins from the top of the lineup, while compiling a 5-4 record in first doubles alongside teammate, sophomore Aidan Epstein.
UP NEXT
The Red Foxes will have one more road match as they take on Binghamton University on Friday, March 16
th. After that match, Marist returns home for three straight matches against Monmouth, Hofstra, and Fairfield.
