NORTH HAVEN, Connecticut – The Marist women's tennis team dropped its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of the season to the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 7-0, Sunday evening at the North Haven Health and Racquet Club. The loss moves the Red Foxes to 7-8 overall and 4-1 in league play. Quinnipiac improves to 6-0 in the MAAC (12-6 overall).
The Bobcats took the first point after winning at all three doubles spots, 7-6, 6-1, and 6-1, taking control of the match from the onset. In singles play, Quinnipiac's Courtney Nash defeated
Amy Galloway 6-0, 6-1 to take a 2-0 match lead.
The Bobcats would then win at the second position, 6-2, 6-0 and the fifth position, 6-1, 6-3 to clinch the match. The Red Foxes would battle at the no. 1 spot but eventually fall 6-4, 6-1. Another tight match was at the fourth position where
Sophia Moeller fell to Quinnipiac's Layla Rodriguez, 6-2, 7-5.
Claire Schmitz would force a tiebreak at the third position after falling in the first set 6-2 before winning the second 6-3, but ultimately fell to Payton Bradley 10-8.

The Red Foxes will close out the regular season with two more matches, the first of which is at home against Fairfield on Thursday, April 19
th. In the final match of the regular season, the Red Foxes will travel to Siena on Sunday, April 22
