EASTON, Pennsylvania – The Marist softball team extended its winning streak to four games with a non-conference doubleheader sweep at Lafayette on Wednesday. The Red Foxes prevailed 13-2 in game one, and 4-3 in game two.
Marist 13, Lafayette 2 (5 innings) – Game One
Summary
- Marist opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first on back-to-back RBI singles by Ali Milam and Kourtney Paul, followed by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Lauren Beal.
- Paul's homer in the third staked Marist to a 4-0 advantage.
- The Red Foxes broke the game open with a five-run fourth, which extended their lead to 9-0. Paul and Brandi Coon had RBI doubles in the inning, while Hunter Hand and Caroline Baratta had RBI singles.
- Lafayette scored twice in its half of the fourth, but Marist closed out the scoring with a four-run fifth. Milam belted a two-run homer, and Paul made it back-to-back with her second homer of the game. Hand had an RBI double later in the inning.

- Lafayette scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the first. Maddie Wensel delivered a two-run double, and Morgan Skurla followed with an RBI double.
- Marist responded with a four-run third inning. Milam drew a bases-loaded walk, followed by an RBI single by Paul. Amanda Sartori's bases-loaded walk forced home the third run in the inning, and an RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Miranda Perez brought home Milam with what proved to be the game-winning run.

- Marist outhit Lafayette, 7-5. Milam and Colombo led the Red Foxes with two hits apiece.
- Megan Beiermeister (11-8) went the first four innings for the win. Nicole Teague followed with three scoreless innings for her third save.
