POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist women's soccer heads to Burlington, Vermont to take on the Maine Black Bears on Friday, August 24th and the Vermont Catamounts on Sunday, August 26th.Â

The two matches are part of the TD Bank Classic which is being hosted by the University of Vermont. The games will take place on Virtue Field and are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

In the Red Foxes' previous outing against the Black Bears, Marist suffered a 2-1 road loss last September. The Black Bears would take an early lead scoring on a corner kick nine minutes into the first half. The Red Foxes would answer back with a goal of their own late in the first half after a strike from
Nicole Sasso tied the game at one. However, Maine midfielder Kayla Brace would score the team's second corner kick goal which would be the decider.

The Black Bears are coming off a 2-0 loss to Massachusetts heading into the game against Marist and stand at 0-1 overall. The Black Bears are coming off a 5-10-1 season in which they had a 3-5 conference record.

The previous outing against the Catamounts also took place last season and resulted in a draw in double overtime. Marist would score within the first few minutes of the game after a nice cross from
Annika Nielsen found
Erica Crosier in the box. However, the Catamounts would score in the 72nd minute with a goal from midfielder Brooke Jenkins to tie the game at one. The Red Foxes would outshoot the Catamounts 4-1 in OT, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The Catamounts are coming off a 2-2 draw against American. Foward Aly Spencer scored two goals against American.
