POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – the Red Foxes will host No. 12 Fordham on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. This will be their second match against a ranked opponent in two weeks, and just one of many tough opponents on this season's schedule.
Marist played aggressively against Rhode Island, recording six shots in the first half to the Rams' two. However, one of Rhode Island's shots managed to find the net and give them the lead with 19 minutes left in the half.
Rhode Island took control of the offense in the second half, firing off eleven shots and scoring once again in the 67th minute. Marist would be unable to answer back, and the Rams would come away once again undefeated in their fifth straight game. Allen Gavilanes and Samad Bounthong led Marist with four shots each, while Ryan Sinnott made three saves in goal.
The No. 11 Rams have a 3-0-1 record this season, following a tie at Bryant on Saturday night. Janos Loebe leads the team in points as a major facilitator, with one goal and five assists. Joergen Oland is the lone player with two goals, while four other players have a goal apiece.
Rashid has been the main goalkeeper, making eight saves in three games for a goals-against average of 0.88. Fordham has earned wins over Holy Cross, Wisconsin and Northwestern, and have gone into overtime in their last three contests.
