WAPPINGER FALLS, New York – The men's cross country team competed in the 7.6k at the Army Open this morning, taking fifth place at a meet with multiple USTFCCCA Regionally ranked programs.
Senior Eamonn Beers was the top finisher for Marist at 37th place with a time of 26:08.7. Freshman Aidan Sweeney was not far behind, taking 40th with 26:19.1. Rounding out the top five squad for the Red Foxes were Samuel Goldzweig (48th), Connor Levins (54th) and Brad Rynkowski (56th).
The squad of mostly younger runners competed well against the eventual winner Temple, the seventh ranked team in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Hosts Army West Point took second while George Washington placed third.
The team will get a weekend off before heading to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the prestigious Lehigh Paul Short Run on September 29th.
