POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist football team will open its Pioneer Football League schedule on Saturday, when the Red Foxes face Stetson in DeLand, Florida. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

- TV: The game will be carried live on ESPN+, which is available for $4.99 per month and has a seven-day free trial. Evan Weston and Robert Goldberg will have the call.
- Marist fell to 0-2 on the season with a 37-27 loss at Bryant. Senior wide receiver Juston Christian set the program record for career touchdown receptions and caught four passes for 144 yards. Making his first career start at quarterback, red-shirt freshman Mike Husni accounted for three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) and 291 yards of total offense (244 passing, 47 rushing). Red-shirt sophomore linebacker Grant Dixon had an interception return for a touchdown, and tied for the team lead with nine tackles.
- Stetson's schedule game against Presbyterian on Sept. 15 was canceled due to Hurricane Florence. The previous week, the Hatters improved to 2-0 with a 63-34 home victory against Waldorf. Tight end Donald Parham was named PFL Offensive Player of the Week after tying a school record with three touchdown catches.
- Marist leads the all-time series against Stetson, 4-1. The teams have split the two meetings in Florida.
- This is the third time in program history Marist has traveled to Florida in September. The Red Foxes were defeated by Florida Atlantic, 31-9, on Sept. 22, 2001. Marist was defeated by Jacksonville, 26-14, on Sept. 29, 2012.
- Marist is now in its 10th season in the PFL. The Red Foxes are 36-36 all-time in the PFL, with an 18-17 record on the road.
- Opponents have reached the Marist Red Zone nine times this season, and have scored in just five of those trips. The Red Foxes' Defensive Red Zone Efficiency of 56% ranks eighth in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
- Individually, Christian ranks fourth in the FCS in yards per reception (30.4), and red-shirt senior safety Wesley Beans is seventh in the FCS in solo tackles per game (7.0).
Marist returns home to face PFL foe Dayton on Saturday, Sept. 29 as part of Family Weekend. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
