POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist women's soccer team, looking to start Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with three-straight wins, heads down to Lawrenceville, New Jersey to take on the Rider Broncs Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
The Red Foxes picked up a 3-0 win over the Canisius Golden Griffins this past Wednesday. Marist's goals were scored by redshirt freshman Anna Daives (2) and freshman
Victoria Colatosti (1). Colatosti's goal was the first of her career.
Francesca Guzzo made two saves in net in the shutout victory, the Red Foxes second clean slate of the season. Marist had a season-high 22 shots in the win, 11 of which were on goal.
Marist picked up a 1-0 win over the Broncs to open conference play. Then senior
Camille Bowen tallied the Red Foxes' game winner in the 73
rd minute. The win was the Red Foxes fourth in the last five matchups with Rider (4-0-1 overall).
Rider enters the contest at 1-1-1 overall in the MAAC (5-3-2 overall). The Broncs defeated preseason favorite Monmouth, lost to Niagara, and tied Fairfield. Valeria Pascuet and Kourtney Cunningham lead the team in points, both have 12. Pascuet has four goals and Cunningham has five. The Broncs last regular-season victory over Marist came in 2011.
